A date for your Diary. Saturday 5th December, at the Teapot Pottery.
Remember we are now at our new Stonham Barns address.
We will be open from 10am until 4pm during which time you can take full advantage of our seasonal hospitality! There may be no such thing as a free lunch, but we do have free mulled wine and mince pies for all our visitors.
We will also have a whole section in our shop area of teapots which are sold at prices only available for the pre-Christmas 'Open Day'. Some teapots will be reduced by up to 40% for one day only. We will also be on hand to answer your questions, show you around the pottery, and generally be as helpful as we can. It is a great opportunity once a year, for us to meet with as many customers, collectors and enthusiasts of our work. You are welcome to visit the pottery all year round of course, you are just not usually fed and watered!
Some of you will doubtless have seen 'The Great Pottery Throwdown' on BBC television. If it has fired you with enthusiasm to get creative yourself, you can check out the various items available for you to decorate in our ‘paint your own pottery’ area, and if you have really got the bug, Tony Carter, who started the Teapot Pottery in 1978 has recently opened his own studio in Debenham, where he will be teaching pottery classes. Tony will be ‘in and out’ during the day, and you can book a course of lessons with him.
In the tradition of ‘Handmade in England’, we will also have a small selection of handmade dress jewellery by Trudy Collyer. On display, and available for sale. All of her work is unique, using only precious and semi-precious gems, yet is no more expensive than most mainstream 'costume jewellery' pieces.
We really hope to see as many visitors as possible … you are welcome anytime during the opening hours on the day, and there are many other reasons at Stonham Barns to 'make a day of it', with the Owl Sanctuary, Lakes, and around 25 shops to browse, all within a few paces of the new pottery.
